Green-um stops dog urine from burning grass:
There
are several contributing factors that increase the likelihood of developing
brown spots on lawn.
Female dogs are more likely to cause lawn burn than males because they void
their entire bladder in one location instead of lifting their leg and marking,
like males.
Large dogs deposit more urine so they increase the quantity of nitrogen in one
location, making lawn burn more likely.
Those dogs, usually young active dogs, fed a high protein diet are more likely
to produce a urine that causes lawn burn.
Heavily fertilized yards are already receiving near maximum levels of
nitrogen. The small amount of nitrogen in dog urine may be all that is needed
to put these lawns over the edge and cause lawn burn.
Lawns that are stressed are more susceptible to damage. Lawns that are
suffering from drought, disease, or are newly sodded or seeded are more
susceptible to lawn burn.
Q: Can you "overdose" on
Green-UM? A: You can give too much Green-UM
by accident, but with no ill effects. You will find the suggested dosage
instructions on the pack.
Q: Will
Green-UM damage my pets kidneys? A: No - as there is no chemical reaction occurring.
Green-UM it simply passes with the dogs urine
and neutalizes the nitrogen.
Q: When will I start to see a positive
result? A: You should start to see a noticeable reduction in new brown
patches within 48 hours. However, you may need to give
GreenUM for a few weeks before you feel safe letting your pet have
free range on your lawn again. Remember, GreenUM
cannot "mend" brown patches or lawn that has already been damaged - you may need
to re seed or re turf the dead area of grass.
